Based on the Adobe PDF Print Engine, the Imaging Engine is a high quality, high performance RIP solution.

Screening and calibration technologies adapted to flexo are integrated, allowing you to make optimum use of the CDI. Imaging Engine outputs to file and features tools for job verification to reduce waste levels and error rate.

As well as being the perfect RIP solution for the CDI, Imaging Engine can create files in open image formats such as TIFF so it can be used for production in other printing processes such as offset litho and gravure.

POWERED BY ADOBE PDF PRINT ENGINE
The Adobe PDF Print Engine provides industry standard rendering of PDFs so you can be confident in the output results, even of complex files with transparency blends and effects. It has a 64 bit multiprocessing software architecture, making optimum use of the latest computer platforms to deliver the performance that your production requires.

ESKO BITMAP VIEWER: QUALITY CONTROL TAKEN TO EXTREMES

Bitmap Viewer is a powerful quality control tool that digitally verifies RIPped data for content and printability before output.

Users can preview ruling, angles, traps, line thickness, dot gain, resolution, seamless check, minimum dot size and many more job critical data.

In addition, Esko Bitmap Viewer compares different versions of a job and automatically highlights any differences. Esko Bitmap Viewer clearly shows any mistake before it is output to plate. Bitmap Viewer saves time and considerably reduces waste.

HD FLEXO: A NEW QUALITY STANDARD FOR FLEXO PRINTING
HD Flexo is fast becoming recognized as a quality mark throughout the flexographic industry.

In combination with an Esko CDI imaging device, the HD Flexo option greatly improves flexographic plate making. In label printing, flexible packaging and corrugated print the tonal range is expanded.

Images are rendered with more smoothness, detail and intensity. This brings greater shelf impact to the packaging.

INTEGRATION USING OPEN STANDARDS
Imaging Engine is part of the Esko Software Platform: an integrated set of prepress production tools.

Jobs flow smoothly from one component of the suite to the next, with metadata preserved in production files using the open XMP standard. This avoids time consuming and error-prone re-entry of information.
 
CONTROL, AS YOU LIKE IT
Key RIP parameters such as screening angles and dot gain are all available for setting via the simple “Pilot” interface. In addition, it is possible to create flexible “rules” logic so that these parameters can be automatically set based on the ink name, ink type or other values. Finally, parameters are Smart Name enabled so they can be controlled from other places in Automation Engine or even the MIS system.

PRESSSYNC

PressSync is a system designed to eliminate the problems associated with creating and maintaining custom press curves.

PressSync replaces measured press curves by synchronized curves. These curves are optimized for both offset and flexo printing. That's why they smooth out natural press variation and provide a good fit to the behavior of your press.

PressSync is fully integrated into the Curve Pilot application that is included with Imaging Engine. By linking to an i1iO measuring device, PressSync can calculate the curves needed to match a standard such as ISO or GRACoL. Curves can easily be updated from production sheet measurements. When printing conditions change you can remain in compliance with the printing standard.

Use color management effectively
Keeping your curves and print standard under control makes it simple to use color managed proofing, advanced screening (such as Concentric) and Expanded Gamut Printing.
